Illegal Alien Crime Roundup

After having been successfully "pwned" in the comments to this post - which is a palate-cleansing experience I recommend to all of you, incidentally - I have seen the error of my ways and intend to make up for it herewith. The lesson learned:

Crimes committed by illegal aliens are a huge problem, exacerbated by elected officials inclined to look the other way. (Hat tip - Zimzo).

We've already covered the tragic results of law enforcement laxity that allowed illegal alien repeat offenders in Northern Virginia (Jose Santos Sibrian Espinoza) and Virginia Beach (Alfredo Ramos) to remain out on the streets long enough to get drunk again and kill innocent American citizens.

Virginia Beach and Loudoun County both present classic cases where a police chief can find cover for not dealing with illegal aliens because the feds are not doing their part.

I would argue that the top public safety officer in a jurisdiction is the one who should step up and smash through that cover by instituting tougher measures at the local level.

Following are a plethora of recent cases you may not have heard about.

Bear in mind that under the provisions of the "immigration reform" legislation currently being debated in the U.S. Senate, all of the criminal illegals detailed below, and thousands like them from any nation, would receive Z visas within 24 hours after applying if USCIS is not able to complete their background checks within that time frame.

University of Maryland sophomore Matthew Watson was killed earlier this month by illegal alien Never L. Navarro-Montoya who was driving drunk in Maryland. Watson was the second Howard County resident to be killed by an illegal alien in the last six months.

Deputy Frank Fabiano Jr. was shot and killed this month by illegal alien Ezeiquiel Lopez in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. The suspect had eight aliases and at least five Social Security numbers, had been arrested in four different states but was never reported to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Earlier this month, Democratic congressmen introduced the Hope Fund Act of 2007, which would provide millions of dollars annually to the illegal alien advocacy group La Raza.

A seven-year-old girl had to undergo surgery this month after she was was abducted and raped by illegal alien Jonathan Castillo in Indiana.

Earlier this month, a 13-year old Virginia Beach girl was found in explicit photographs, and involved in a sexual relationship with illegal alien Carlos Ramos who is being held without bond.

It was discovered this month that hundreds of illegal aliens have registered to vote and many have actually voted in Bexar County, Texas.

Also this month, CASA de Maryland, Inc, a taxpayer-funded illegal alien advocacy group, was revealed to be distributing guidebooks instructing people targeted by federal immigration agents during job-site raids not to cooperate with authorities if they are detained or arrested.

A "Totalization Agreement" between the U.S. and Mexico, which has already been signed between the two nations and is awaiting the President's signature, could make as many as 1.6 million Mexican workers and dependents eligible for U.S. Social Security benefits by 2040. Dependent family members could be eligible for benefits without having ever worked in -- or even having visited -- the United States. The program would cost the United States an estimated $207 billion through 2040.

Film director Bob Clarke and his son were killed in April by illegal alien Hector Velazquez-Nava who was driving drunk in California.

Danny Sims was killed in April by illegal alien Luciano Melendres who was driving drunk in North Carolina one week after being convicted on a DWI charge.

Jerry "Duane" Braswell and his 9-year-old son, Jerry Braswell Jr. were killed in March by illegal alien Luciano Tellez, who was driving drunk in North Carolina and was wanted for violating the terms of probation, had been convicted of drunken driving in 2005 and had a suspended license.

Leoner Perez was killed in March by illegal alien Urgana DeNova who was driving drunk in Florida.

Kent Boone was killed in March by illegal alien Isidro Soto Pena who was driving drunk in California and had four previous DWI convictions and a major drug conviction, and was supposed to have been deported in 2005.

A 65-year old Annaville, Texas woman was brutally raped in July, 2006 by illegal alien Eugenio Sandoval, who received a 99 year sentence.

(Check here for another angle on the issue of sex offenses.)

Sean and Donna Wilson were killed in June, 2006 by illegal alien Gustavo Garcia Reyes who was driving drunk in Tennessee and had been arrested at least 14 times before the fatal crash.

Former high school football coach David K. Bassore was killed in April, 2006 by illegal alien Raul Cabrera who was driving drunk in Missouri.

Scott Gardner was killed and his wife and children injured in July, 2005 by illegal alien Ramiro Gallegos who was driving drunk in North Carolina and had been arrested three previous times for driving while impaired.

With the federal government so utterly corrupt and unwilling to fix this problem that our Senate is actually debating a bill that would make the problem much, much worse, it should be no surprise that local officials throughout the nation are taking action and have formed an organization to address it.

Citizens should support and promote these efforts, and should also promote programs to ride out of town on a rail their elected officials who persist in holding up legislation that would help solve the illegal alien problem.

Citizens should also demand that their local elected officials not merely do "the best they can" within the paramaters the Feds appear to provide, but should serve as agents of change to solve the problems their constituents are experiencing.

When you were younger, thinking about all of the potential things you could do with your life, did you envision that you would become the crazy old woman peering through her curtains at her neighbors, babbling incoherently about invading aliens, constantly ringing up the police and ranting that they must do something, while the nice policeman, who realizes that you just want a little attention and someone to talk to, says calmly, "Now, now Mrs. Budzinski, we're doing everything we can. You just let us do our jobs and make sure you take all the medication your doctor prescribed."

Or did you envision something more?

No, I imagined I'd be sitting on the porch with a shotgun and a bottle of Jim Beam - which is exactly what I am doing.

I guess if it's comforting for you to believe that you have become a stereotype straight out of Deliverance, then you go right on believing that.

"I'm gonna make you squeal like a pig. Weeeeeeee!"

If you weren't a figment of my imagination I'd blast your ass into the next county.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand." -- Atticus Finch, To Kill a Mockingbird

"I remember when my daddy gave me that gun. He told me that I should never point it at anything in the house; and that he'd rather I'd shoot at tin cans in the backyard. But he said that sooner or later he supposed the temptation to go after birds would be too much, and that I could shoot all the blue jays I wanted - if I could hit 'em; but to remember it was a sin to kill a mockingbird." -- Atticus Finch, To Kill a Mockingbird

Unless that mockingbird is really annoying you, I guess.

So Zimzo's a little birdy with little winged fairy slippers, eh? Oh Zimmy, let me dab that tear from your fragile cheek, I fear I have upset your feelings.

I am not a little bird and you are no Atticus Finch, though you once did a convincing job of pretending to be.

You sure do sing pretty, though.

10 points if you can tell me who played Scout and Jem.

If you guys decide to have a civil union will you have it right here at NOVATownhallblog? That would be pretty sweet.

I was trying to place Zimzo, which I think I am closer to doing.
