Action Item - tell Webb and Warner to vote NO on cloture

S 1348 is fatally flawed because it grants immediate amnesty to nearly anyone who applies through the 'Z-visa' program, it allows illegal aliens to jump in line ahead of millions of people who have applied for U.S. citizenship legally, and the "enforcement" provisions are totally bogus because of the simple fact that the fence we supposedly were going to get as a result of 2006 legislation does not yet exist.

Senator Harry Reid is trying to cut off debate and send this abortion of a bill - which has not even been written beyond draft form - to the full Senate for an up or down vote.

Call your senators and tell them to vote NO on cloture because of the reasons given above or any of these 20 good reasons to kill S 1348.

DC Office of Senator John Warner
Washington, DC

Midlothian Office of Sen. John Warner
Midlothian, VA

D.C. Office of Sen. James Webb
Washington, DC

Virginia Beach Office of Sen. James Webb
Virginia Beach, VA

If you are in another state, find your senator's contact info by clicking here.

UPDATE: Cloture was voted down 61-34 a short time ago; supposedly it will be voted on again at 5:00 pm today. So don't stop calling, faxing, e-mailing, etc! Also, be sure to thank your senator if he or she voted against cloture in the earlier vote. Both Warner and Webb voted against cloture (see how your senator voted by clicking here).

Someone must be listening since Reid fell short of cloture by a mere 27 votes.

Hmmmm. Why did Johnson not vote? In fact, has he voted at all this year? Has he even shown up to work?

I don't think so. I guess it doesn't matter that South Dakota is not properly represented, so long as the Democrats stay in power.

Had Enough said:

He had a stroke late last year. I don't know how is doing, I have not heard much about him lately.

Jack said:

I know he did. He should have been replaced, but the Democrats will do anything to hold onto power. (Just ask Sen. Lautenberg.)

Reid got a award from mexico in recognition of his efforts to bring a Mexican consulate office to the area.

"I recognize the important role and significance of having a Mexican Consulate office in Clark County," said Reid. "The Consul plays an important role in providing valuable information and services to the Mexican community. Before the Consulate opened, people in Clark County who sought Mexican consular services had to travel four hours to San Bernadino. I'm glad that I was able to help the Mexican Community fill that need."

Had Enough said:

Many of the democrats need to be replaced before I have a stroke!

Bush is at it Again, he just can't give it a rest. His constant persistance to please mexico is disgusting. He has a demented addiction with mexico.

Since he took office, he has only gone out of his way for the citizens to get us killed.

Bush Hopes to Revive Immigration Bill

The calls and Bush's scheduled lunch on Tuesday with GOP senators are part of a campaign by the White House and allies in both parties to placate or outmaneuver conservative Republicans who blocked the broad immigration measure this week. They said Friday they would try again to reach accord on the number of amendments the dissidents could offer.
